I was in the mood for another bowl of pho today after my delicious bowl of pho last week at Miss Saigon. There must be another good bowl of pho somewhere nearby in downtown without having to go to SoMa (Miss Saigon), I thought. Nope, I still have to go to either Miss Saigon or Pho Huong Viet (Richmond district) for great bowls of pho because this place isn't. Pho Tan Hoa is neither bad or good, just average bowl of pho.

Went out partying all nite. Woke up in the morning with a bad hang over. Craving for some hot noodle soup that opens at 8 am. Pho tan hoa has been our spot for many years! Best kept secret in the heart of TL. Ordered the special, beef noodle soup comes with beans sprout and basil, jalapeños and limes. The time we place the order, to the time food arrived to our table was under 3 minutes or less. Made a table side dipping sauce with hoisin and siracha chili sauce. The fragrance from the soup, cinnamon, basil, star anise. My senses were awoken and alive! Beef tendons, briskets, steaks slice paper thin. Generous amount of beef and rice noodles. Sweat running down my fore head, nose running! Perfect day for hot soup! Hangover is gone!

I have pho very often being form SoCal and having a variety of options. Pho Tan Hoa has the best Pho Ga (chicken) I've ever had! I usually have beef pho, but I wanted to gamble with chicken and I'm glad I did. Service was quick and fast! they were very polite. ambiance is nothing fancy, but that's what you expect in an everyday authentic pho shop. If you don't have cash, you can zelle.

Let me just say straight up, the Pho was bomb!!! And the fried egg rolls were very tasty!! I enjoyed my experience dining at the restaurant. Now, the neighborhood is the neighborhood lol, you may witness some interesting activities. But once you get inside, it is spacious and comfortable. The customer service was excellent and attentive. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH! Be prepared for that. If you're eating alone, $30 is enough to get you soup, appetizer, and a drink.
